The BRASS Rollerball Pen offers a fantastic writing experience that is different from other rollerball pens: it uses a universal ink cartridge (similar to the BRASS Fountain Pen) which vastly improves your choice of inks. It could even be used with a converter cartridge, allowing you to use your favourite inks and nearly completely reducing waste in the process.
Its uniquely clever design features a distinctly small size with the cap on, but once removed and screwed onto the back, it transforms into a comfortable, full-size pen. Its small footprint makes it an excellent choice to take with you on your travels.
The BRASS pens are made in a small factory on the outskirts of Tokyo. This facility was originally built as bullet plant during WWII, but was transformed into a pen factory afterwards. To this day, the design of the BRASS pens features a bullet-like aesthetic – a clear indicator of the original purpose of the machines that produce these cases, and a beautiful way to repurpose them.
In a day and age where items are often produced for short-term usage, the pieces in the BRASS range were specifically designed with the opposite thought in mind: the more and the longer you use them, the more beautiful they will turn out. The brass of these pieces will develop a gorgeous patina over time because of the slow oxidization process of the copper within the alloy.
The scratches, fingerprints and small blemishes they collect over time only add to their vintage beauty. You could polish the brass to have it look new again, but we at Misc-store believe that the eventual vintage, battered quality is a reflection of its owner, as the patina on pieces will be vastly different from user to user and marks their personal bond with the item.
About TRAVELER'S Company
The TRAVELER'S Company collection is as deep as it is thought-out. While many designers are content to offer just a few simple solutions, TRAVELER’S Company provides a whole suite. A TRAVELER’S Notebook lets you discover what is useful to your own life. Every detail, from the paper production to the dyeing of the leather, has been considered to ensure the elegance and durability of your notebook.
A feel for the material
TRAVELER’S Company works with just a handful of different materials: leather, brass, and paper. If given the proper care, both brass and leather will age and become more beautiful through use. The paper is elegant and sturdy, and resists feathering and distortion from ink.
We were the first store outside of Japan to stock TRAVELER’S Notebook, and we’re proud to be the home of TRAVELER’S Company in the Netherlands. Come and visit our store to see the full collection of TRAVELER’S Notebook in Amsterdam, or buy TRAVELER’S Notebook online.
What's the difference between Midori and TRAVELER'S Company?
In 2015, TRAVELER’S Company was devolved from their parent company, Midori, so that TRAVELER’S Notebook fans around the world can find the notebooks that they were looking for more easily. Midori notebooks, the everyday notebooks made with high-quality Japanese paper, are available here.

Misc Store supports
climate change solutions &
plants a tree for every order
Importing from countries as far as Japan & shipping worldwide has more of an impact than we would like. That is why we plant a tree for every order + we plant an additional 2 trees each day.
Furthermore, we offset the individual carbon footprint of our staff, including travel per individual under 8,000 km by car or 2 short-haul return flights annually, by funding climate change solutions through Ecologi.
A selection of these climate projects are shown here.
