Frama Adam Stool
The Adam Stool collection is inspired by industrial design, an artist's studio, and a workshop. The functionality and simplicity of the design, combined with strong materials, gives this stool a structural and utilitarian approach. The Adams work well as a regular stool, dining stool, side table or for different use in workspaces. As such it fits a regular dining table or desk.
Toke Lauridsen for Frama
The Adam Stools are by the design of Toke Lauridsen. For Frama, he designed a range of stools that are all both elegantly light as sturdy and functional. Although Frama’s collection is designed by various designers the collection forms a cohesive whole. Frama designs have a focus on natural materials, simple geometry and an appreciation of permanency.
Cleaning and Maintenance
A little care goes a long way. The seat of this stool is made of solid oak which has been oiled twice. To keep it clean just use a damp cloth; preferably only use water because chemicals in cleaning products can damage the wood.
To keep the wood in top shape we recommend oiling the stool twice a year. Never pour the oil directly onto the wood but apply it to a soft cloth and rub it into the wood. Go with the grain of the wood treating the entire piece, both top and underside of the wood and let it soak for two hours. Then rub off the excess oil until a uniform surface is obtained before letting it dry.
Frama & Misc-Store Amsterdam
Frama Studio operates in various creative feels and directions from furniture, Lightning, Apothecary, Books, Apparel and Kitchens. They all have in common that they focus on natural materials, simple geometry and a general appreciation of permanency.
The pieces within the collections signal a return to basics, where the design appearance aims to be honest and simplified. Working within the area of design archetypes, Frama represents a graphical and straight forward aesthetic approach to design.
At Misc-store Amsterdam the Frama Collection consists of Shelf Library, the WD-1 Writing Desk, Eiffel Pendant Lamp, their iconic Adam Stools and Bench as you can find at our local coffee hang out Toki, and our personal favorite; the Sutoa Cabinet in Oak by Keji Ashizawa.
What do you think about when you choose furniture for your office? What materials is a piece made of, how does it sit in space? Does it complement — or contrast — with its surroundings? What will it look like in 5 years, or 10 years, or a generation from now? “It’s alright to wait for the right object to come, instead of going to a warehouse and buying all your furniture,” says Frama co-founder Niels Strøyer Christophersen. He’s talking about his elegant Copenhagen apartment, but he may as well be talking Frama Studio’s attitude to design.
Developing their ranges slowly and carefully, Frama take years to flesh the tiniest of details out. The resulting furniture forms look just as elegant against the confines 19th-century drawing room as they might against a rolling Zaha Hadid hyperspace, using natural Nordic materials to blend mid-century modern sensibilities with contemporary innovations. It’s a down-to-earth attitude, and we’re perfectly charmed by the approach. Looking for a piece that will last for years is an important endeavour. Understanding the fine details of what makes a piece timeless is something that Frama has down to an art.
We’re thrilled to be stocking carefully selected office furniture from Frama’s catalogue in our Amsterdam store and online. We love their tactile, thoughtful approach to what a working space can look like, and for us, we think the right object might have just come.
Nice to see you here,

climate change solutions &
plants a tree for every order
Importing from countries as far as Japan & shipping worldwide has more of an impact than we would like. That is why we plant a tree for every order + we plant an additional 2 trees each day.
Furthermore, we offset the individual carbon footprint of our staff, including travel per individual under 8,000 km by car or 2 short-haul return flights annually, by funding climate change solutions through Ecologi.
A selection of these climate projects are shown here.
