In Enige Logica - somewhat logical in English - Amsterdam-based graphic designer Rop van Mierlo paints colorful and cheerful images of animals. This book follows his previously self-published 'Wild Animals', characterized by his wet-on-wet painting style. The result is a series of amorphous and fuzzy shapes, but with skillful application these vibrant blobs are still recognizable as various wild and domesticated animals. The pigeon practically struts across the page, the bats sleep fitfully upside down, a fiery orange horse thunders through a white field, and so on. These eye-catching and unrestrained images can thus be appreciated by all ages.

About Rop van Mierlo
Rop van Mierlo, known for his wet-on-wet painting style, created a series of animals inspired by the idea of how people try to tame the world in any way they can. While searching for a way to illustrate these animals, he started thinking: "if I would draw a wild animal, I'd be trying to capture it in lines, but that's just another way to control and tame it."
Using his wet-on-wet painting technique, Rop van Mierlo's animal series is thus represented in amorphous and fuzzy shapes, yet these blobs are still easily recognizable as members of the animal kingdom — vibrant and untameable.
