Sound you can see | Why we brought Transparent to Misc

There's a moment when you first see a Transparent speaker in a room where it just makes sense. Not because it demands your attention — but because it doesn't hide.
The glass cabinet, the exposed components, the aluminum frame. It sits there like a piece of furniture that happens to play music.
Honestly, it's a little hard to look away. That's more or less how we felt when we first encountered the brand. And it's why they're now part of what we carry at Misc.

Built to last, designed to show it

Transparent was founded in Sweden by Per Brickstad, Magnus Wiberg, and Martin Willers with a simple but ambitious idea: make consumer electronics that are honest about what they are.
No plastic shells concealing cheap components. No design that dates in two years. Just durable materials — aluminum, tempered glass, borosilicate — and the kind of craftsmanship that's meant to age well. Their mission is to become the first circular tech brand. Everything they make is designed to be repaired, upgraded, and kept. In a category defined by planned obsolescence, that's a genuinely different position to take.

Two speakers, one vision

We carry two speakers from Transparent, and they work beautifully as a pair. The Transparent Speaker is the centrepiece — a full-size home speaker with 100W of power, built from tempered glass and aluminum, and recommended for rooms up to 70m². It connects via Bluetooth 5.0, has front controls for volume, bass and treble, and can be paired with a second speaker for true wireless stereo. It's the kind of thing you buy once, place carefully, and never want to move.

The Light Speaker is its portable counterpart. Same philosophy, smaller form. Made from borosilicate glass with a built-in ambient lighting system, 360° sound, and 10 hours of battery life. It goes from the living room to the kitchen to the garden without losing anything along the way. Both are available in black and white. Why we stock it At Misc we look for things that are made with intention — objects that reward the decision to buy them. Transparent fits that perfectly. These are speakers you'll want to show people when they come over. Not because they're flashy, but because they're so clearly and quietly well made.

They're also the kind of product that deserves to be seen in person before you buy. Which is exactly why we have them in the store on Elandsgracht.
