Kokuyo's Kizuki no Ki Blocks - House are not your average building blocks. It is designed with the hope that it will expand the range of children's play and foster intellectual curiosity and creativity. It allows children to build a simple sense of understanding of weight, size, shapes and numbers, while providing basic play that building blocks do.

Further expanding the range of play of Kizuki no Ki Blocks - Pixel, House is set to a higher target age, designed to deepen understanding of shape. Most of the pieces are made up of triangular prisms, and like Pixel, they are colored so that they become darker according to the volume and weight that increases. It is designed so that you can intuitively understand that there are various triangular prisms with the same volume.

The number of pieces (21 types → 56 types) has been greatly increased. However, by doing so, the coloring and types of pieces are made as simple as possible as in Pixel, so that play is not complicated.

At Misc Store we also carry Kizuki no Ki Blocks - Pixel, that uses the same base scale, but in quadrangular blue-green shapes. Additionally, both series can be played in combination. The houses, castles, and townscapes that combine House and Pixel have a beautiful color scheme and also function as interiors. We hope that not only children, but also adults can enjoy "playing like a child" together and help parent-child communication.

Kokuyo x Misc Store Amsterdam

Founded in 1905, Kokuyo quickly became the industry leader in paper products — from account books to letter paper, forms and notebooks.

In 1960, Kokuyo ventured into a transition “from paper to metal”, producing their first filing cabinet. With the economy of that day and age — increasing complexity of administration x economic growth — there was a growing demand for know-how and office supplies to manage the ever-mounting pile of paperwork effectively.

Over the years, Kokuyo has developed various products that enrich lives. That feeling when you open up a fresh new notebook and see the blank page. That feeling when you put pen to paper and let the ideas flow. Whether through stationery, furniture, or spatial design, Kokuyo strives to unleash people's inner creativity. Creation is an expression of uniqueness. Bringing out people’s individuality contributes towards a better future.

At Misc Store Amsterdam, both in our shop as well as online, we proudly carry some of Kokuyo's earlier steel desk items. The designs have not changed since their product launch. We also carry their famed Campus notebooks and a selection of the contest to market entries from their Kokuyo Design Awards, such as the Beetle Tip Marker and the Kadokeshi Eraser.
