Hasami Porcelain

The Hasami Porcelain Aloeswood Incense is a tube with 24 sticks of Japan made Aloeswood Incense, a wood-base scent.

For this incense the Jinkoh (Aloeswood) is combined with Sandalwood and natural herbal scents, creating a deep aroma. The fragrant notes of Aloeswood are sweet, spicy, bitter and sour and can be found in South-East Asia’s Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodja, Indonesia and Laos. Remarkedly, the young Aloeswood tree has no scent, which develops as the tree grows. As the tree ages and it is exposed to bacteria native to the area, the tree develops an aromatic resin. Over time, this develops into a very dark and rich resin, with a distinctive and lovely fragrance. The Aloeswood wood does not float in the water, due to its density and high percentage of resin. This is why Aloeswood is coined “Jinkoh” in Japan, as it means ” A fragrant and heavy wood that sinks”.

Hasami Porcelain teamed up with Nippon Kodo, one of Japan’s most known incense manufacturers, for their line of Hasami Porcelain Incense. Nippon Kodo still makes their incense by hand. According to their century-old tradition, they only use high quality raw materials for their fine incense

The Hasami Porcelain Aloeswood Incense sticks are packaged in a fine glass tube with cork lid. The tube includes 24 sticks that burn 20 minutes each.

At Misc-Store we also carry Hasami Porcelain Sandalwood Incense.

Hasami Porcelain

Hasami Porcelain is a collection of tableware existing of teapots, plates, bowls, mugs, and trays, made in Japan. Their signature clean shapes are repetitively made in similar and recurring diameters, making the individual items easy to stack freely. Hasami Porcelain uses the 85, 145, 185, 220 and 255mm diameter dimensions. This results in a beautiful esthetic view of the items in your cupboard, in the office pantry or kitchen.

Stacked and combined, the Hasami Porcelain pieces form a beautiful rhythmic harmony. The stacking mechanism, and the functionality of nesting, is inspired by tiered boxes – traditional lacquer ware – used in Japanese cuisine. This way plates also become lids for bowls; all pieces of the collection are multifunctional and complementary to each other.
