The radiometer was invented in the 1870s by the British physicist William Crooks, who called it a 'light mill'. Originally, radiometers served as a laboratory instrument, examining the conversion of light energy into kinetic energy. But hey, they look great too! With the Hightide Radiometer you can bring this simple and clever invention into your home as a decorative piece.
The wings of the radiometer are activated by electromagnetic radiation, e.g. light. The rotation speed of the radiometer changes depending on the light intensity and light source. When placed near windows or incandescent lamps where light enters, you can enjoy the movement of wings that bring movement to any static space you might find in your house.

Following EU regulations, from July 1st 2021 online shops must charge customers the VAT % from their home country.
All prices are shown including 21% (NL VAT rate); if your country’s VAT rate different, the prices will change accordingly during checkout.
Postalco One Year Wall Calendar €20
- will be €19,67 for a customer from Germany, as the German VAT rate is 19%
- will be €20,67 for a customer from Denmark, as the Danish VAT rate is 25%
Prices are shown including 21% VAT. If you are shopping from outside the EU, VAT will automatically be deducted during checkout based on your shipping address.
- This only happens after your shipping address has been filled out.
- Do not use any of the Express Checkout buttons in the cart (Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay): this skips the checkout process & therefor the VAT cannot be deducted by the system.
- Import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
Penco is a Japanese stationery brand founded on a single ballpoint pen. As the Americana inspired name suggests it is a company making pens. That is, it started with a single ballpoint pen. But they have ventured into much more than just pens. By now their nostalgic analog inspired collections encompass all kinds of stationery. Ranging from clips to clipboards, notebooks to console boxes and pencases to, well… pens.
Penco is part of the Hightide brand family. Hightide brands are known for their attention to detail, materials and great design. This can be seen throughout the entire Hightide range of casual everyday stationery.
We’re delighted to carry Penco and present it to our customers in the Netherlands and internationally via our shop online. To see Penco in person, please visit our store in Amsterdam.
