The Kakimori Glass Nib was created as a casual alternative to the conventional glass pen. The nib was handcrafted by glass artist Akiko Fukazawa, creating a fascinatingly soft writing experience dat defies expectation.

Tilt the nib below 45 degrees to create fine lines and letters. Made to universal specifications to fit all standard nib holders, as well as those from the Kakimori range.

Misc-store also carries both Kakimori Metal Nibs; each has their own different writing properties. The Kakimori Stainless Steel Nib is ideal for fine letters, fine lines and has a 'sharper' feel, whereas the Brass Nib creates undulating lines and has a 'soft' feel.

Misc-store carries a couple of the Kakimori Pigment inks and the Kakimori colour liner kits.

Use and care

- When removing the nib from the nib holder, gently pull it out while turning to avoid dislodging the nib mount. Be careful not to apply strong force directly to the glass.
- Strong impact to the precision-made nib may compromise ink flow.
- To prevent the build-up of dry ink in the grooves, rinse frequently in water during use.
- To remove stubborn dry ink, gently scrub in water with a soft toothbrush.
- If using detergent, a pH neutral detergent is recommended.
- Avoid alkaline detergents as they will damage the surface.

Kakimori x Misc-store Amsterdam

Kakimori's notebooks, inks, pens and letter papers are made through craftsmanship and imbued with the hope of treasured, long-lasting ownership — brought to life within your own space and time.

Their home is one of Tokyo’s old shitamachi (downtown) neighbourhoods. Craftsmanship remains well and truly alive, with small manufacturing workshops and factories lining the streets. Work and daily life exist in close proximity and there is a strong sense of community. By taking the design, production and retail of products into their own hands, Kakimori aims to reconnect with local manufacturing, revitalise declining crafts and artisans, and restore circularity for the next generation.

At Misc-store Amsterdam we are proud to be stocking selected items from Kakimori's carefully crafted range of writing tools — to celebrate the joy of writing.

Following EU regulations, from July 1st 2021 online shops must charge customers the VAT % from their home country.
