In een democratie worden er beslissingen genomen op basis van de wil van het volk. Er zijn ook landen waar maar één persoon het voor het zeggen heeft en dat is de dictator. Hij regeert door angst te zaaien. Wie hem niet gehoorzaamt, wordt gestraft.

Het is verboden iets anders te denken dan wat de dictator verkondigt. Niemand protesteert, want dat mag niet. Maar wie wil er leven in zo’n land?

In the late 1970s, shortly after the end of the Franco dictatorship, Equipo Plantel wrote this book to explain dictatorship to the next generation. How do we explain things that concern us as parents?

In a democracy, decisions are made based on the will of the people. There are also countries where only one person is in charge and that is the dictator. He rules by instilling fear. Whoever disobeys him will be punished.

It is forbidden to think anything other than what the dictator proclaims. No one protests, because that is not allowed. But who wants to live in such a country?
